Here comes 21st March 2008, the most awaited day for most people across the globe!

What a pure co-incidence – may be all the gods had a round table conference and decided to shower an auspicious day to us earthlings! Holi, Eid and Good Friday all on the same day – you couldn’t ask for more. This pure co-incidence should bring to light the fact that we human beings should live in harmony and respect all faiths. In India, all the three festivals are celebrated with equal joy and pomp; and I’m sure a 3 -in-1 day would be the greatest celebrated day of all! Today should remind us that each religion and each faith is as beautiful, as knowledgeable and as respectable as the other. Each of them teach us to pray Almighty, Allah, Bhagwan. Each of them teach us to love others, forgive others and that each of us are immortal souls.

I spent my school days in a Convent school, we prayed to Jesus everyday - and just before leaving home I prayed to Lord Krishna - it was a beautiful blend of two faiths. On one hand, I loved the hymns and the Christmas carols and on the other I enjoyed the Aartis and the Diwali Puja which my family performed religiously.

Today, I may not be attending school to pray to Jesus, but deep in my heart I still say small prayer to him – and as I watch the Holi pyre, I pray to my Lord Vishnu who rightly enlighted us that good deeds prevail over the evil deeds. I pray to Allah that he bless us all; for all three festivals are a symbol of offering prayers to God.

A colourful day of Holi is a true symbol of uniting people across the country and in many parts of the world. As the evil has been bidden farewell, a colourful day awaits us - a day which will teach us to live in harmony, love each other and enjoy the year ahead of us in bliss.

Wish all my friends a very happy and colourful holi, Happy easter and Eid Mubarak. Remember God loves us all and we all are one!

If the Rs 60k loan waiver sanctioned to the farmers was not a foolish step, our FM seems to welcome sub-prime crisis in India. It’s like “hey we Indians miss being in trouble too, come along and lets have a cup of tea with crisis!” Since most farmers have borrowed from the evil money lenders, there was a huge hue and cry since these farmers did not benefit the loan waiver. So Mr Eminent Chidambaram has extended the sub-prime crises to India. He has asked the banks to fund the farmers so they can repay the money lenders! I pity the banks – they are autonomous bodies – yet bound by the FM’s word. So now farmers will take a loan from the bank and repay the money lenders. Wow! And still they won’t repay the bank loan and then we’ll see another loan waiver next year. The sub – prime crisis started in the US because these loans were extended to people with poor credit history. The crisis hasn’t yet become a history to repeat itself, but present repeats itself so well in India.

Banks will soon be cash starved – inflation still won’t be under control – poor will remain poor- corruption will ensure that the loan waiver benefits the rich – a few lucky farmers may get some relief ( I don’t believe the system of loan waiver would be foolproof) – innocent tax payers like us will suffer the brunt of more taxation – since the tax revenue just got wasted again! Yet, irrigation facilities won’t improve, lack of electricity and power will always persist, crop cultivation system won’t get any impetus or development. And our country will be crippled with severe economic crises.

The FM – P C Chidambaram – hails from the best graduate school in the world – is he playing dirty politics with the country? Or is it simply an election budget – a message to claim that they will fall to any extent to get the seat next year? Amidst global economic crisis, the FM has failed to deliver his best to the country’s economic growth. The loan waiver will make banks charitable institutions with zero margins, more soever since the RBI refuses to reduce the interest rate. There will soon be no money left with the bank for further lending, which will make the agricultural sector dry and will lead the way to recession.

There is no rationale behind the loan waiver – except that the Congress is taking care of the needy just for the sake of winning the upcoming elections. It is indeed a pitiful sight in the villages, however it is more pitiful to see our resources being wasted in the political war. Our PM, a very respectable man was quoted to mock at the BJP for not heeding to the needs of the poor. I ask – what has the Congress done in 5 years for the poor specifically? Why didn’t they come up with a loan waiver in the first year itself? Why have they failed to lay better agricultural programmes in reality? It is easy to sanction money for agricultural development since it is the tax payers hard earned money – however who has ensured proper utilisation of the sanctioned amount? Where are the true reports of the projects? Atleast Laloo Prasad brought about the most impressive change in the Indian Railways. His budget and vision has been simply fabulous – simply the best anyone could ask from him – given his prior reputation. And the Congress? The FM, the commerce minister Kamal Nath, the steel minister Ram Vilas Paswan, the left party and all the chunk of ministers have done nothing but argued and fought and destroyed the industrial growth of the country. Yet, the sports minister has enough money to pay crores of rupees to the Indian cricket team – a tax free income – for winning a three day match? Is it really worth “tax free”?

If India’s economy has shown any positive growth, the credit goes to each and every Indian who works hard and toils for his growth. The credit goes to the numerable industrialists – for generating employment, demand and supply; to those IT industries who have done a fabulous job of making India the IT hub with the best technologies; to the respected Tata, Birla and other big Indian names who have not only worked for economic profit, but also understood their corporate social responsibility towards India; to the telecommunication industry which has made the world a global village; to many such other entrepreneurs and Indians who make India shine even under the dark cloud of the UPA government which has no unity within itself.

Hail India! Saare jaahan se accha – Hindustan humara!

What started as an Indo – US nuclear deal, is now a Congress – CPI nuclear misdeal! CPI, the left party has only been hampering India’s growth and progress, let go the “aam admi / poor people’s” government image. For whatever reasons the Left opposes the Western countries, it fails to see the many benefits a powerful developed country can have in India’s growth and development. When the world moves towards globalisation, the Left wants to close our country to all FDI / FII, thus restricting growth in the name of “not in the interest of the country” Why don’t they document the “non interest” matters and publicise it for the entire nation to read. In my opinion, Left is simply seeking attention from the media, the public and working completely in against the interest of the country.

While India has crippling problems of infrastructure, electricity and power supply being the topmost; thousands of Indians don’t have electricity for more than 14 hours a day; where Indian government departments only breeds corruption; poor technology leads to utter wastage during power transmission; the Left claims that the nuclear deal is “not in the interest of the country” I would like to ask them, what it is, according to them ” in the interest of the country?” Corruption, bureaucratic officers, money laundering? Why ain’t these things attacked at before?

I fail to understand, along with many other Indians, why is taking aid from Western country treated like an Omen by the Left? While nuclear power will resolve the growing need of power, many rural Indians will be better able to perform agricultural activities. Why is the Left pro China even though China itself is a capitalist in the name of communism? Even China has one of the largest foreign exchange reserves and plenty of FDI / FII. Or has China bribed the Left parties to work against the country?

The funniest thing about the Nuclear deal and CHina is that China opposed to it – because it does not want India to develop faster than it is actually. Why else would it oppose? It feels threatened by it’s own neighbours. CHina itself has nuclear power and weapons, etc. And to think of it, Left party is actually supporting China – shouldn’t our Left be transferred to China?

Keeping all things aside, even if the nuclear deal isn’t in the interest of the country, are all Congress leaders, our politicians supporting the deal idiots? Given that, even BJP supported the deal during its regime – why not now? They wouldn’t remain as Opposition party if they supported Congress right? But Left only seems to show its opinion by straight away calling off support to the Congress and asking for fresh elections. It only claims that it doesn’t intend to instabilise the government, but it has never acted in favour of the country ever. For any decision taken by the Congress, the Left opposes and calls off its support. It only shows that they are weak players, need lots of attention, and basically want no good to happen. And at the end of it, they don’t want to do any good, but just act as critics of the government. I would like to ask the Left – why have you supported the Congress if you never wanted to align with their decision? We could have had one more election five years back, than bear the brunt of the Left opposing every single good decision taken for a change by the congress.

In my opinion, the congress should sign the deal – slap the left hard by signing the deal and let the left withdraw its support. I’m sure the Nation will stand by the Congress and the party will emerge as a Knight in the Shining armour for its good deeds without Left’s support. The Left scam should be exposed in the media – and it should be taught a lesson for being an ugly player in liberalisation of India.

To sum it all, if BJP and Congress joined hands, worked together – since their policies align with each other – India will rise to become a Super Power – similar to USA, UK and other developed countries. Two biggest parties, and no one can ruin India! It would be the most magical incidence in the face of politics. Rise India, wake up! Wake up to support the government in the Nuclear deal. Lets work together for a better nation – a nation with it’s lights shining bright all times!
